Mekesha Wanner
Mekesha has danced with Dance Works Studio for 25 years, beginning at the age of 3. She has trained in jazz, clogging, ballroom, hip hop, tumbling, tap, ballet, and cheerleading. She was a cheerleader at GVHS for 4 years. After graduating, she persued her education at Snow College and later at Utah State University receiving her degree in Elementary Education. She has taught for Dance Works for 12 years beginning her Sr. year of high school. She has traveled with the studio to Texas, Florida, Hawaii, California-three times, Branson, and Alaska. Outside of the studio, she has taken classes from So You Think You Can Dance judge and choreographer Wade Robson, organized a free after school dance program at the elementary school she taught at in Eagle Mountain, been assistant Drill Team advisor for the G-Gettes for 3 years, and is currently now the head coach. She has choreographed for the musicals Annie Get Your Gun, Beauty and the Beast, and Footloose. She has two little girls Tenley and Presley, and is married to Michael Wanner.
Kayla has been dancing for 17 years. She started at Dance Works Studio in the tiny tots class at the age of two and hasn't stopped dancing since. She loves to teach kids about what she loves to do which is dance. Kayla has been teaching for 6 years. She has been trained in and now teaches five styles of dance: ballroom, jazz, hip hop, ballet, and clogging. Kayla recently graduated from GVHS where she was a member of the drill team for four years. Kayla was one of the few chosen to be a member of the All-State Drill Team 2010. She also has been on the All-American Drill Team for 2 years. She was the Drill Mistress her Junior year and Assistant Drill Mistress her Senior year. Kayla served as the Dance Sterling Scholar and as a student body officer. Kayla was crowned Miss Gunnison 2010 and loved every second of it. She was a member of the Badgerettes at Snow College. She plans to continue her education at Snow College and go on to receive her masters degree in nursing and someday own a dance studio of her own.
Nicole Anderson
Nicole has been a part of Dance Works Studio for 17 years. She is trained in jazz, clogging, tap, cheer, hip hop, ballroom and ballet. Nicole began teaching dance at age 15 and has since taught jazz, clogging, ballroom, ballet and cheer classes for 6 1/2 years. She danced on the performance tours to California (twice), Branson and Alaska. During high school, she was involved in cheerleading and drill team. Nicole served as the GVHS Dance Sterling Scholar and was chosen to be on the Allstate Drill Team. After spending two years at Snow College, she attended Utah State University and recently graduated in Elementary Education. She will be teaching fourth grade this year at Fountain Green Elementary. Nicole is excited to move back to Sanpete County so she can continue to be a part of Dance Works Studio!
Laura Belnap
Laura Belnap is excited to be teaching beginning and intermediate clogging for the 2012-2013 dance year. She has been clogging for 26 years and still loves it! She clogged under Dance Works Studio up until graduating from High School, then went on to student teach for two years while persuing her Education at Snow College. In 1999 she began teaching clogging for Dance Works until 2005 when she made the decision to be a 'stay at home mom' with her then, two kids, and now three; two boys and one girl. Since 2005 she has kept her 'foot in the door' by teaching a class here and there. She has traveled with the dance studio to Canada, Idaho, Tennessee, Florida, Bahamas, California, Texas, Colorado, Branson. Laura lives in Mayfield and is married to Brady Belnap.
Gabrielle Malmgren
This is Gabi's 3rd year teaching at Dance Works Studio. Gabi has danced with the studio for 15 years and was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year. She has trained in jazz, hip hop, clogging, and ballroom. She was a cheerleader at GVHS for 3 years and a member of the G-Gettes her Senior year. She will be attending Snow College this year and is a member of their drill team the Badgerettes. Gabi is excited to share her talents and her love of dance with others.
Tiffany Bown
Tiffany is the new addition to the Dance Works family this year. She will be student teaching our tumbling classes. Tiffany is a junior at GVHS and has been dancing with Dance Works studio for 14 years. She has trained in jazz, ballroom, tumbling, and hip hop. She has been on the drill team for 3 years and the softball team for 2 years, and has served as the Activity Director and currently the Assistant drill misstress for the drill team. Her passion is dancing. You can always find her dancing where ever she goes.
